They sent the boy back to Russia with a note

As unsafe as the world had become, mot people don't allow their children to walk down the street by themselves...BUT!!! Some do-gooders from Tenneesee sent their adopted seven year old son back to his native country with a note pinned on his backpack. Are you serious? Apparently the child said he was going to burn the house down (what second grader doesn't have fantasies of seeing it all go up in flames? They're all morbid little creatures at that stage).

I was reading some reaction comments on CNN.com and, man, the things that people are saying. Some say that the boy should have been sent back in order to protect the family. Quite a few people blame the Russians for not disclosing all pertinent information about adoptees. And others, applaud the mother for at least trying to provide the child with a better life here in America. For the most part, I read that a lot of people are scratching their heads at the thought of someone being capable of sending a child on a international journey alone.

I'm sorry people, you do not get to set a child up for failure. If you're not capable of taking on the challenge of raising a child, then you shouldn't attempt to do so. Adoption is not an accidental pregnancy; you choose to take a child into your home and into your heart. There are no give backs. As far as the expense of adopting a foreign child, hey that one's on you. There are plenty of needy American children who need homes and they even pay you to take them in. Oh, but it's not as trendy as a foreign child. You don't get to have your "Save the World" badge for a domestic breed.

For shame. (Eye brows raised and mouth pinched)
