I really like this book. Beau Taylor has fallen from grace in a really big way. He used to be the Governor of Virginia. He used to be married with a family. Now he's a drunk who doesn't care if he lives or dies. Then he almost dies and makes some serious changes in his life. He decides that he wants his wife back. Only thing is, Jillian has moved on.
This is a first time (in a short novel) that I've read about a character who has cheated on his spouse, not once but twice. Usually there is an allusion to infidelity but rarely is it a part of the plot of the story. Beau did not have an easy time trying to convince his wife that he deserved a third chance. This story had a pretty good flow and some surprises added to my enjoyment.

Tempting the Beast by Lora Leigh
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Finally I got a chance to read the first book in the Feline Breed series. I have been curious about Callan and Merinus for a long time and now I want to play catch up with all the others that I have missed.
All I can say is Callan is pretty WOW and so is Kane Tyler. Man, Lora Leigh really knows hot to build them Ford tough.

Taken by the Prince by Christina Dodd
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Victoria is the best of the Governess'. This is one bad Victorian chick with sword...and serious attitude.
Victoria is a very smart woman, who has learned early to take what life has given her and keep moving. She's not a typical D-I-D, she takes charge of her life and does not cry when things don't go her way.
When she first meets Saber, there is an immediate disdain for him (but of course, this hides another emotional reaction that she has for him.)
And Saber...well, what can be said besides that he's very hot, arrogant (as a future king should be) and tortured. Saber has the weigh of a near ancient kingdom on his shoulders and added to that, a sadistic father. I would have like for his English family to have been better explored but maybe that wouldn't have been pertinent to the storyline of the book?

Dreams of a Dark Warrior by Kresley Cole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I want the hero to die at least one more time. Declan has to be on of the most evil (mortal), characters that I have read in paranormal romance. He is devoid of emotion and reason...he doesn't even get a high from the torture he orders. It's just something that has to be done.
Though I would like to send the hero through a dirty meat grinder, I do love this book. Maybe being so involve with a main character is a good sign. I love the IAD series...where most series will fall of and turn into mush after the fourth book or so, IAD keeps getting better.
****For those who have finished this book, are you hoping that Lothaire and Nix are fated to be together? I am.******

Ummm...WOW! This is one hot book. From Sed to Brian and Jace. These guys are the ultimate bad boys of rock. The only thing that I did not like was that the author made mention of the other band members lives, but did not elaborate and I would have liked a little more info about the rest of the guys. Maybe that'll come in the next book. I will be purchasing the next book in the series.
The Strawberry Letter: Real Talk, Real Advice, Because Bitterness Isn't Sexy by Shirley Strawberry
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Congrats to Shirley Strawberry. I was a little sceptical about how this book was going to turn out; thinking that the book would be a response to Steve Harvey's best-selling duo of self-help books focused at women. I am glad to find that this book is quite different from Mr. Harvey's brand of advise.
I have been listening to Ms. Strawberry since hers days and 92.3 The Beat in Los Angeles and have been hearing her opinions on listerner letters from the beginning. But not much was knownn about Shirley's life: she got married, had a child (who wasn't there) and has been single for more than a decade. This book allows readers a chance to know a little bit more about the woman who gets to comment on our craziest moments. The Strawberry Letter: Real Talk, Real Advice, Because Bitterness Isn't Sexy uses real letters from the Strawberry Letter segment of The Steve Harvey Morning Show to draw parallels to her life and the lessons that she has had to learn.
This book is a wonderful effort and I can see another book in the future from Ms. Strawberry. (And the bonus at the end of the book are a HOT MESS!)

Brandt Wainwright is known as the Viking to all his fans and he lives up to his moniker. As the highest paid quarterback in the NFL, Brandt is very on the celebrity list and added to his personal wealth, his family is on New York's list of Who's Who. But something is about to happen to jeopardize Brandt's very way of life.
Ciara Dennison is a no nonsense private nurse who doesn't like sports or celebrity and she's not at all impressed by Wainwright money or Brandt's temper. When these two meet, it's an instant attraction that causes them to go far beyond a working relationship.
As much as I liked the book, I did feel that Ciara's reason for shying away from the limelight was a bit flimsy. She wasn't my favorite female character though she held her own. I did love Brandt though---he was very funny and sure of himself. Just as he should have been. And the appearance of Jordan was an added bonus (makes me want to read Because of You all over again). A good read and worth the price.
